Moreover, Rainbow Springs Nature Park offers a unique showcase of native flora and fauna, following by Agrodome Sheep Show - an entertaining "hands-on" experience which gives you an animated insight into New Zealand farming. Located within the World Heritage Fiordland National Park, this region is rich with dense rainforest, lakes and waterfalls cascading from rugged mountain peaks. Day 08 Depart Queenstown and travel through the rugged and beautiful landscape of Otago. Cross the Lindis Pass into the Mackenzie Country to visit Mount Cook Village at the base of New Zealand's highest mountain Aoraki / Mount Cook. Here there is time to experience an optional scenic helicopter or ski-plane flight with a snow landing (weather-permitting and at own expenses). Continue your journey with a stop at the Church of the Good Shepherd on the shores of Lake Tekapo, before continuing to Christchurch.
Day 09 CHRISTCHURCH (B)

Depart Auckland and travel south towards the Bombay Hills before continuing into New Zealand's largest dairy farming province, the Waikato. Following the Waikato River to the city of Hamilton. Travel from Hamilton your journey continues via the rural township of Morrinsville then on to Matamata. Time is available for lunch (at own expenses). Starting the Hobbiton Movie Tour from the Matamata Information Centre. The guide will provide an informative commentary on the story behind the scenes on how and why the location was chosen and what was involved to create the set. Return to Matamata Information Centre and pick-up by the Farm Host and transfer to the Farm.
